SHADCHANUS & ENGAGEMENTS

The "Suggester" is the person who submits names for a shidduch through NewlyReds online form or by email. The "Shadchan" refers to the shadchan affiliated with NewlyReds who picks up the suggestion and redts (facilitates) the shidduch between the couple and/or their parents directly. The "Couple" refers to the singles who were suggested as a shidduch idea.

Halachic Guidance

All matters relating to shadchanus are paskened by leading poskim with expertise in this area. Halachic guidelines and p'sak provided by HaRav Yaakov Forchheimer shlita of Lakewood, NJ and Rav Uri Deutsch shlita of Lakewood, NJ. NewlyReds follows these halachos and the official guidelines are noted below. By submitting to this website or via email, you agree to these Halachic terms.

Engagements

If the Couple gets engaged through a NewlyReds Shadchan, the Suggester also gets a percentage of Shadchanus.

As per the advice of Harav Forchheimer, shlita, anyone who gives NewlyReds™ a shidduch idea that leads to the successful completion of a shidduch will receive one-sixth (1/6th) of the shadchanus given to the NewlyReds shadchan. Although they are not entitled to the full third a maschil normally receives for they did not act as a broker between the parties, nevertheless for giving a successful idea they should be given half of the maschil’s portion, which is one-sixth of the full shadchanus.

Any halachic question that arises, will be presented to HaRav Forchheimer, shlita.

Shadchanus

In the event that the Suggester's shidduch submission becomes an engaged couple through NewlyReds, the Shadchan is entitled to Shadchanus, and the Suggester is entitled to a percentage of this as well, (see previous section for details). Shadchanus is provided by the couple and their family.

NewlyAwards™

What are NewlyAwards™? These are sponsored gifts - either gift cards, physical items or vouchers - that are given to Suggesters of a shidduch idea that a NewlyReds Shadchan gets to a first date.

The Suggester will receive a NewlyAward™ (gift item) from NewlyReds upon the Couple getting a first date. NewlyAwards™ gifts are not transferable to cash. The NewlyAward™ is ONLY given to suggestions getting a first date, that have been facilitated by a NewlyReds Shadchan, not an outside shadchan.

NewlyReds Shadchanim are not entitled to a NewlyAward™ at this time. This may change as the program expands.

Aspects Relating to NewlyAwards™

Prize values start at $50 and vary. Prizes awarded in order of availability. Prizes may be selected from a Prize Category. But, the suggester does not have any rights to choosing a specific prize/dollar value - this remains at the sole discretion of NewlyReds and is subject to availability. If a specific prize category is depleted, prizes will be offered on a backordered basis.

Personal and Non-Personal Information We Collect by Automated Means And How We Use It

We may use automated means to collect various types of non-personal information (data in a form that does not support direct association with any specific person or individual; please note some of this information may be considered Personal Information under GDPR, as further described below), including information about you, your computer or other device used to access our Website.

Much of this information is collected through the use of third-party tracking services, which includes Google Analytics. The information collected may include usage information, such as the numbers and frequency of users to the Website, pages visited, web browsing histories, online activities and searches, social networking activities and similar data. When gathered, this data, if used, is used in the aggregate, and not in a manner that is intended to identify you personally. This type of aggregate information may be shared with third parties at any time. In addition to the third-party tracking services mentioned above, we also collect this information through various other means, including "cookies” and IP addresses, as further explained below.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of information that a web server may place on your computer when you visit a website. Cookies are commonly used by websites to improve the user experience. Many cookies last only through a single website session, or visit. Others may have an expiration date, or may remain on your computer until you delete them. NEWLYREDS™ uses “session cookies” so that we can properly verify a user’s identity as they move from one page to the next. We may also use cookies for other purposes, such as to identify and authenticate visitors, to maintain continuity during a user session, or to gather data about the usage of our website for research and other purposes.

Most browsers will tell you how to stop accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, and how to disable existing cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to take full advantage of all the features on our Website. Our cookies do not gather personally identifiable information. In some cases, NEWLYREDS™ may also use another company to operate web servers for our Website. NEWLYREDS™ uses the cookie information gathered by these companies in the same manner as stated in this Privacy Policy.

Web Beacons

Certain pages on the Website contain “web beacons” (also known as Internet tags, pixel tags and clear GIFs). These web beacons allow third parties to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the beacon appears, the time the page containing the beacon was viewed, the type of browser used to view the page, and the information in cookies set by the third party. Web beacons also may be used to track whether you have opened an HTML email. When the email is opened, a part of the code that makes up the HTML page calls a web server to load the web beacon that then generates a record showing that the email has been viewed. Web beacons may also recognize when the email was opened, how many times it was forwarded and which URLs (links within the email) were clicked.

IP Addresses

When you visit and interact with the Website, NEWLYREDS™ and third parties with whom we have contracted to provide services for us, may collect Internet Protocol addresses (each an “IP Address”), as well as browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and page navigation. An IP Address is a unique identifier number that certain electronic devices use to identify and to communicate with each other on the Internet; your Internet Service Provider automatically assigns an IP Address to the computer that you are using. We gather this information to track web site visitor movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Our goal in gathering this information is to learn how our customers and the public are using our Website. We may use this information to enhance our Website or for other lawful purposes.

Other Means

We may work with third-party companies that use techniques other than HTTP cookies to recognize your computer or device and/or to collect and record information about your web surfing activity, including those integrated with our services. Please keep in mind that your web browser may not permit you to block the use of these techniques, and those browser settings that block conventional cookies may have no effect on such techniques.

Do Not Track Notice

Some web browsers incorporate a “Do Not Track” feature that signals to websites that you visit that you do not want to have your online activity tracked. How browsers communicate and respond to the Do Not Track signal is not yet uniform. For this reason, like many web websites, the Website does not currently respond to or alter its practices when it receives a Do Not Track signal. Please note that third parties may collect personal information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit our Website or other online websites and services. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” you may wish to visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.
